The few in-game ads I've noticed in Battlefield 2142 are much more subtle, and arguably even add to the immersion factor of the environments, since they replace overtly generic adverts with posters for genuine products but in keeping with the same style as the rest of the game's art direction.

I think the problem with the above is as much to do with the repetition of the same image, as much as with the quality of that image itself, which is of course absolutely dire. This could be down to a kind of cold start problem with the in-game scheme - if there are only a few people advertising, the adverts will be much more saturating.</description>
